What’s New?

Friday Nite Photography Quote:

Never have I found the limits of the photographic potential. Every horizon, upon being reached, reveals another beckoning in the distance. Always, I am on the threshold.
— W. Eugene Smith

The latest about equipment:
I’ve been hearing good things about the latest offerings of what’s available in both Mirrorless and Point & Shoot Cameras!
Enough so it’s making me curious about what’s available and the level of Technology to make my fingers itchy!
I’ve heard that they are Offering the things that we’ve all come accustomed to in what we should expect from what a Camera can do instead of just wishing what a Camera can do!
Being able to shoot in Manuel when needed! High Frame Rates for action shots. See I’m not talking about for just Sports here. I’m thinking more like for a Dance Floor where when you depress your shutter button you want you camera to be able to capture what you see without any Lag Time! Shooting Raw, how bout high ISO’s to the point of topping 12000 like the more expensive cameras!
So the thought of having something that’s small enough to fit inside a pocket but also have the abilities of being able to do what I ask of it when I want it is now looking soo good it’s making my eyebrows go up! I just started to look around and spent a little bit of time in B&H to see what the specs say!
Man was I surprised! Now,I’m thinking that instead of walking around carrying my heavy Monster when going out in public trying to shoot things and people on the street. It now looks like we have some serious choices! With very reasonable prices!

I’ll try and post more about this over this beautiful weekend!
Later!

It’s Friday!

Friday Nite Photography Quote:
While there is perhaps a province in which the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes, there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see.
~~Dorothea Lange

This Weeks Friday Nite Photography Quote is by the Writer Albert Camus

Thinking is not unifying or making the appearance familiar under the guise of a great principal. Thinking is learning all over again how to see, directing one’s consciousness, making of every image a privileged place.
– Albert Camus

Memorial Day is this Weekend!
To Honor those that have Served and to Remember those that gave the Ultimate Price and never returned. I am posting an Image I had taken a couple of years ago when my wife and I were in Northern France. This is Of Omaha Beach, Normandy France.
So many people died here that our minds can’t fathom!

Have a Safe and Enjoyable Weekend Everybody!

Friday Nite Photography Quote:
Cartier-Bresson’s decisive moment comes when ‘the picture in one glance says everything and says it in terms of design, rhythm, pattern – every element in strong relationship with all the others… Photography is a matter of visual geometry’. I recall him telling me ‘Order and organization are the educated heart of a picture. — Margaret R. Weiss

Beautiful Weekend is Upon Us!
The Rain has finally stopped and it looks like we are in for a Wonderful Weekend! Grab Your Cameras and go Out and Shoot!

I was practicing my B&W Conversions this past week. So I can fully grasp the differences between what the Color Filters do and how to apply them. I had a problem trying to decide what I wanted to do to the smoke? Too much detail in the Structure and the Smoke disappeared. Not enough Structure and I was loosing the Details in the Tools! This is my end result of a great Image I had shot two summers ago in Ulster County, Northern Ireland!
Let me know what you think!

On vacation in Northern Ireland we visited the Ulster American Folk Park.

Landscape Photography

Hope this Blog finds all of you well this late Sunday Afternoon?

Normally I try and keep this Blog about Portrait Photography.
In my opinion a great Portrait can also be Fine Art Photography just like a Landscape. I was just reading a New Issue of a Landscape Magazine that has several great articles.
Extraordinary Vision Outdoor Photography is the name and it’s Free from the Newstand on my IPad! I highly recommend it for those who are interested in Landscape and Scenery Photography.

It’s Free but Only for Mobile!
